How can one travel in a space colony?

I’ll assume you mean traveling within a very large space colony. A tram system seems the most convenient. If it were trully massive and had the equivalent to an outside cars would be impractical because of the lack of fuels besides for what you can make and then reuse and the Carbon Dioxide would need to be processed. Even if it was a VERY large colony it is unlikely you would need anything beyond the capabilities of a modern day electrical car powered by the stations power grid. If you between space colonies then I would assume a shuttle would work best. If they were orbiting on different sides of the Earth the shuttle could build up speed falling towards the Earth and then ascend again to the 2nd station. If you meant going from Earth to a colony I would say a space elevator would be the most efficient. It would take passengers to a transportation hub in high Earth orbit where shuttles can transport people to whatever station they want to go to.
