It depends what kind of issues you are talking about…. Generally though there are psychological theories such as personality theory- see Eysenck for this. He believed that criminals were of a certain personality type- see wikipedia or something for further research. There was a lot of research on genetic causes of criminal behaviour but these have long been out of fashion in this area- it is believed for example that if the son of a criminal becomes a criminal also, it is because he has learned this type of behaviour rather than because of genes etc. Do you mean specific broad theories such as behaviourism/psychoanalysis/humaninsm etc???
