How can pumping positive and negative ions into my air get rid of odors and dust?

The Ion Generator is placed in the air handler which is a part of your existing heating and air system. As the air is circulated the ions are sent throughout your home. These ions, which are just free floating positive and negative charges, attach to the particles in the air and the particles are then attracted to each other and form larger and larger clumps. These clumps finally become large enough to get caught in the regular air filter your system already has. Any gaseous odors are broken down into harmless trace elements or elements that are good for us. For instance, NH2 or ammonia (which is one stinky chemical) is broken down into Nitrogen and Hydrogen. The air we breath is composed of 78% Nitrogen and has trace elements of Hydrogen, so the odor is eliminated and the end elements remaining are harmless.
