How can school counselors use their career/education to positively impact their community?
I am not coming from this position professionally. I saw a school counselor in high school who positively impacted my life. I then had the possibility to contribute to society, and hopefully, impact my community. When it comes to mentoring children, the impact is both direct and indirect. Either way, the end result is that balanced, healthy minded, educated children have something special to give back. Giving confused kids that type of guidance molds the potential of that child, and that’s a remarkable impact, I feel.
