How can the U.S. ever criticize other countries' election results when Bush was allowed to steal two elections in a row here? (2000 and 2004). In 2000 Bush was selected by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 vote. Millions of American voters were disenfranchised. Perhaps that's one reason Obama has a hard time being more direct about the voting fraud in Iran. The present government there could respond with how our own elections were rigged. One of the biggest differences is that in 2000, Gore just rolled over and played dead after his presidency was stolen, and few Americans took to the streets. If Americans in 2000 showed the kind of courage we've seen in the past week from the Iranian protesters, perhaps Bush would not have made it into the White House. Maybe there would have been a recount. Who knows? -- wolfen [Read wolfen's other letters] Permalink Tuesday, June 23, 2009 02:29 AM PDT Ms. Walsh, or anyone else who cares to bite...
