How can the Virginia DMV become more efficient even with the closing of many branch offices?
There are long lines and short tempers at D.C. DMV offices where workers say they’re overloaded with customers after one of the city’s four service centers was shut down. Workers at the office in Georgetown tell ABC 7 News the lines suddenly became a lot longer when the city closed one of its branches. The mayor’s office refused to let ABC 7 News inside to catch how long the lines have gotten, but it’s a glass office and you don’t have to go inside to see the line. “It’s terrible. It’s a nightmare,” said Jay Russo, a DMV customer. “Everyone that works in there is as mean as a snake and I can’t blame them. They are under a lot of pressure and there aren’t enough of them.” Workers at the Georgetown office say once the Brentwood DMV branch closed last week, they got hit with a lot more customers.
