How can we protect ourselves against computer viruses?
It is impossible to stop your computer from being infected with a virus one will always slip through your guard especially root-kits but there are steps to take that will help you to detect a virus and then clean your system. Remember it isn’t always a Virus that attacks your computer these days. 1. Always use an up to date Anti-Virus some are free and will be good enough to do the job of a paid for Anti-Virus Software for example: AVG, PC Tools Anti-Virus, Avira Antivir Personal. There are many others. 2. Make sure you have Some Anti-Malware, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Adware programs on your computer and make sure they are all up to date. Some free ones i always use are Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and if need be ThreatFire. Others you can use if you want are Spybot, Ad-aware personal and Norman Malware Cleaner. 3.
