How can you remove sticky tape marks from a wardrobe?

I usually pick up first whatever I could of the old glue by using other tape like a piece of electrical tape and just use it like a rubber cement eraser I guess. You know how you tap at it over and over again with the glue side. Whatever doesn’t come off you can use a little rubber cement thinner or Oops I think it’s called or even some acetone or nail polish remover but if you use the latter, just enough to dampen the cotton swab and wipe it clean/dry quickly before it has a chance to set and damage the finish of the varnish. The backside of the tape on tape, or rather glue on glue should pick up most if not all of it though.
