How common is heart murmurs in Singapura cats?
Answer Harold, I found nothing that says that Singapuras are any more susceptible to heart murmurs than any other breed. Remember, I am not a vet, but the health of the cat will be affected or not depending on the type of heart murmur. Also, I have seen heart murmurs mid-diagnoised, so it pays to get a second opinion form a veterinary cardiologist. This person could tell you what type of heart murmur it is and whether or not to be concerned. In many cases, cats live long healthy lives with a heart murmur. It seem to be only in severe cases where the cats activities may be curtailed due to the heart murmur. Please let me know what you find. Best regards… Norm.
