How could I restore the configuration of a faulty HIOB gateway?

To be able to use the easiest possible recipe you should take some preparations before a crash: Backup the configuration! If your firewall gateway supports USB you can do it directly using the command “saveconf.sh” on the command line after having logged in. Otherwise you can use e. g. the command “ssh gateway saveconf.sh – > filename” on a computer with network access to the gateway. In the disaster case you can restore the configuration to the replaced hardware – original certificates are also restored. If you don’t have a backup of the original gateway you can of course update the configuration on the replaced gateway using the HIOB Management Platform (with new certificates).
