How Could Overpopulation Cause Extinction?

Overpopulation will lead to extinction, but it wont be the direct cause of it. for example, when the world becomes over populated with humans. Humans will eat other humans, as there is nothing but humans on the planet. And in doing so, they will introduce a human form of mad cow, that in turn will kill off the whole species… hopefully.
