How dangerous are pit bulls?
In fact, German Shepherds attack their owners more often than any other breed. There’s no question that pit bulls can be aggressive and dangerous dogs. But I’ve also known pit bulls that were as kind and gentle as any animal I’ve ever known. The problem is that there have been several well-publicized attacks by pit bulls and the media tends to drive the issue and make it larger than it really is. I’ve also seen conflicting statistics like you have. So bottom line, I think pit bulls have gotten a bad rap. A mean dog is a mean dog no matter the breed. But I just don’t believe that the breed is the real problem in this case.
