How did Elvis Presley change the world?
Elvis inspired a lot of the artists that came later (most notably the Beatles) who would go on to have an even bigger impact on society and culture. Also he was the first major rock figure to attempt a “crossover” career (music as well as movies) although most of his movies were less than memorable. You could say that his movies in part helped to influence the “music video” genre that came decades later with MTV. He was the first major US rock and roll singer to be “mass-marketed” on several different fronts in the way that almost all mainstream music stars are marketed today. I guarantee you no one would have wasted their time making a Jonas Brothers movie if Elvis hadn’t made rock and roll movies first, 40+ years ago.
