How did JonBenet Ramsey become so famous?
Historically when a white kid disappears there is much more press coverage than when a child of color disappears. In the case of Jon Benet she was first believed to have been abducted and then found dead by her dad. This happened during Christmas which made the tragedy even more sensational. Jon Benet had been a child beauty queeen which provided some unusual pictures of the victim. That was followed up by the father, John, finding his daughter in his own basement which had previously been searched and cleared by law enforcement (the Boulder Colorado Police). Johns finding Jon Benet caused evidence to be tampered with, whether deliberate or not. Then there was a rambling ransom note, for $118,000.00, the exact amount of a bonus that John was receiving.
