How did The 19th Amendment change American society?
Times change, society changes. One of the great things about the Constitution is that it can change. Once upon a time women just weren’t involved in political issues, it wasn’t their place, and were frequently not educated. Things didn’t stay that way. The suffrage movement led to the 19th amendment. It was inevitable. I like to think it was for the best. Men and women do often look at the world differently, so I would hope that it is a good thing. Women are today directly affected by public policy so why shouldn’t they have a say in it? I just fear that some don’t have a good sense of what it truly important. And those same ones may say the same about some men. And may very well be correct.
