Over a 3 1/2 – year evaluation period by Underwriters Laboratories and testing against stringent Coast Guard Standards, Aqua Force became the only product of its type to receive U. S. Coast Guard approval in the newly created category of “Swimwear Flotation Device.” Aqua Force is classified as a Type V Special Purpose Device, meeting carriage requirements for a Type III Flotation Aid only when the child is wearing it. Therefore, when worn, it provides the same protection as a Type III Flotation Aid. Aqua Force was tested for an additional two years in order to receive the classification permitting children to wear it while using personal watercraft and water skis.
