The birth of “writing” which started at the time of Moses is part of God’s will as prophesied in the book of Daniel that there will be increase of learning.  The  written prophecies as read in the Bible has reached to people in major parts of the world. Hence, written language has made huge impact in the propagation of Gods’ words.

Written Language has no direct co-relation with Christianity; but with Judaism which is the base religion for Christianity.  The first written books in Judaism are the first 5 books of the bible written by Moses, or mainly by Moses.  Some of the content of those books could come from Egyptian history (hieroglyphic)
Christianity starts with Jesus and his disciples and the 4 gospels together with the book of Acts and many non-canonical books written around the year 70 to 200.

What really changed Christianity was the discovery of the printing press in the XII century.  Since them the bible became more popular and after the reform it was possible to translate it and make it available to the common men.
