How did you pick the name Fortinbras for the dogs name in A Wrinkle in Time?
Fortinbras is the prince who comes at the end of the play Hamlet. And many of my characters are named after people in plays. We had Oliver from Oliver Twist because Oliver was an orphan. Has your fiction for children ever been compared with that of C. S. Lewis? Yes, it has. I think that the main difference is that C. S. Lewis has more answers and I have more questions. I wasn’t the right age to read him when he was being published. But my children grew up with him. I spent time this past summer at Oxford and Cambridge for a C. S. Lewis conference. I have been reading your books since I was in fourth grade – the first one was A Wrinkle in Time – and have always been fascinated by the presence of God your writing reflects.
