How do biological clocks work and how accurate are they?
Biological clocks, per se are about as accurate as people’s ability to estimate distance or weight, but for different reasons. Some people can judge passage of time to within a minute (I can when I want to), some can’t. Some can judge elapsed time to +/- a few minutes, some can barely tell you approximately how many *hours* have passed. Finally, you have the circadian rhythms…everyone is pre-pragrammed to a 14-16 hour day with 8-10 hours of sleep. For whatever reason, different people seem to be biologically “most active” at different times. Some can re-program it easily, some can’t. I can reset myself reasonably easily (I can work nights or days, but I’m screwed for an evening shift).
