How do fraternities seek new members at The University of Alabama?
Men who wish to join one of the 29 IFC fraternities at The University of Alabama have two ways of seeking membership. Traditionally, groups recruit members during the spring and summer prior to their freshmen year and extend bids for membership prior to classes beginning in the fall semester. The Interfraternity Council holds a formal recruitment during late August and early September. During formal recruitment each prospective new member has the opportunity to interact with individuals from each fraternity and visit their houses. Bids for membership are extended during the week of events.
