Electronic filing is on the rise in Indiana. More than 1.8 million – 61 percent – of Hoosier taxpayers have chosen the convenience of filing their tax returns electronically, and as a result many are reaping the rewards of more accurate returns and faster refunds. Online tools like I-File, the state’s own fast, friendly and free online filing tool for individual income taxes, and the fed/state program contribute to greater accuracy by ensuring taxpayers’ returns align with new and amended tax laws, and check math calculations as the return is completed. I-File will even select the proper form for the taxpayer. More than 150,000 individuals used I-File during the 2009 filing season, and gave it high praise. In fact, survey responses from more than 6,000 I-File users over the last three years revealed that: • 92 percent were satisfied or very satisfied with their I-File experience; • 95 percent said they would likely or very likely use I-File in the future; and • 94.9 percent would recom
