How Do I Build a Stucco Wall?
Stucco is a mortarlike substance made up of sand, cement and water. The stucco forms a tough, durable outer layer on the wall. Metal mesh, called lathe, is stapled or nailed to the wall framing. The lathe bonds with the stucco and holds it in place while it dries. Stucco may have dye added during the mixing process, though uniform color is hard to achieve this way. Paint may be applied to the stucco after it dries for a more consistent and higher-quality color.
