How do i calculate kinetic energy and how do i turn kinetic energy into potential energy?

Kinetic energy is 1/2 mass * velocity ^2 Potential energy is weight * height If you climb up a hill you have potential energy. i.e. your weight * the height of the hill. If you then jump of the hill you transfer that energy into kinetic energy and they, (the two energies) will be equal.
