How Do I Change Drive Belt On Lt1045 Cub Cadet?
This document, from Cub Cadet website, contains the procedure: www.cubcadet.info, lower the deck to it’s lowest level. There are 2 pins that you disconnect, at the rear of the deck (wear gloves, easy to cut or scrape yourself doing this), then you push the whole desk forward and release it from the bar in the front, then there is a detailed procedure in the manual, to loosen an idler pulley, and remove the deck belt, that goes to the drive pulley on bottom of the motor. Slip the belt off the drive pulley, then slide the entire deck out the side, and swap out the belt, and, if it was me, I would sharpen or replace the blades, at the same time, since this is a very good opportunity to do that….. It would be an easier job, for 2 people to do, if you can round up a helper, but I have done it by myself, 2 or 3 times, no biggie…..
