6 years is very good for a battery. You got your money out of it. It would be smart to change before cold weather. Take it to any of the retailers that will change it for you. Most auto parts stores will do it for free. Call and ask. Remind them that you don't want to lose your settings. They should have a 9 volt battery that plugs into the cigarette lighter/power outlet, that keeps setting intact. If you are shopping price, don’t. Unless you are planning to trade soon. You rarely get more than you pay for. A bad battery can cause failure of all kinds of stuff; like the alternator. Love your avatar.  more
