How do I check for breast lumps?

0

The best time to check for lumps in your breasts is right after your period ends. I usually do it in the shower. There are many sites that give you directions on how to exam yourself, but I’ll give you what I know. You place your hand on the back of your head so that your arm makes an angle. Push your arm back until you feel a nice stretch. At this point you can start checking for lumps. Starting at the nipple, with your opposite arm start massaging in a circular motion around your breast working outwards. It is normal for you to find lumps that feel like grapes, but if you find a lump that feels like a peanut, you should go to your doctor right away. Your breasts are always changing, so you may feel something that won’t be there next month. I hope I helped! Good luck.
