How do I collect child support from a Non-Custodial Parent who is not in Arizona?
Arizona can enforce the child support order if it is an Arizona order through administrative enforcement actions. If the order is not an Arizona order, or administrative enforcement actions are not effective in collecting current child support and arrears, Arizona can send an interstate transmittal to the state where the non-custodial parent is living to request help with enforcement of the current child support order. Why does it take so long sometimes for other states to start collecting current child support and arrears? There could be a number of reasons; the other child support enforcement agency may not be able to serve notice to the non-custodial parent due to an incorrect address, or the other state may be waiting for a court hearing. While waiting for enforcement of the order to begin in the other state, parents are advised to let DCSE know of any new information about the non-custodial parent, such as a new address or employer.
