How do I cook Italian Sausage before adding it to my spaghetti sauce?
You can cook it with the casing but I like it without….just get a knife and gently cut through the casing…it looks like ground sausage…they are equally good but here you go: 1. Cook mild and hot Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until crumbly and no longer pink. Drain excess grease and set aside. Heat olive oil in the same pan over medium heat; stir in onion and garlic, and cook until the onion has softened and turned translucent. 2. Stir in tomatoes, and the crumbled sausage; season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes until sun-dried tomatoes have softened. 3. Before serving, stir in cream( if desired) and garnish with tomatoes. Good luck and Buon Appetito….
Heta a skillet on meduiem heat and cook until the meat in brown then drain, and add it to your sauce. If it is ground Italian sausage break it up in the heated skillet and cook until brown and then drain excess oil. If it is the link sausage slice and brown and drain the excess oil. I hope I helped you.
