Well, the hot oil treatment sounds good but heres what you should do to make it even better. Apply the oil thouroughly throughtout your hair, paying extra attention to the burnt out tips. Leave it on for atleast an hour (and you dont necessarily need to have a towel on). Before you wash it off, soak your towel in hot water (a bearable temperature) and wrap it around your hair turban style for 2-3 minutes. Repeat this process about 4-5 times and then rinse of your hair using a good shampoo. Do not forget to condition the bottom half of your hair after that. Remember, it is extremely essential that you get the oil out of your hair, especially your roots which produce oil naturally. Every 2-3 months, get the bottom white and damaged part of your hair cut. Another effective hair nutrition treatment is mixing egg yolk with plain yoghurt or curd and applying it to your hair, just like oil, 30-60 minutes before washing. It is extremely effective but you need to put in extra effort to rinse of

If your hair is truly damaged due to heat straightening, the only “cure” is to cut off the damaged part. You can make it look better with conditioner and pomades, but the damage will still be there. Use a product designed to protect hair from heat styling to keep from getting further damage.

The deep conditioning ideas are all great, but keep in mind you can not really ‘cure’ fried hair…your best bet is to cut away the dead ends to stop the progression of split ends from spreading any further up the hair shaft. Then continue to use the deep conditioning to help seal the cuticle until all the damanged hair has grown out and been cut off. Then make sure you use heat treatments before treating your hair to help prevent any future damage.

I have constantly straightenned my hair. When straighteners were over-priced, I even used a household iron! First-thing to do is cut down your use to only weekends, (there are plenty of other styles to try during the week and Pantene frizz defence keeps my humid-weather-hair horrors at bay). If your hair is as bad as it sounds, before you wash your hair (which is hopefully not every night because that will dry your hair out even worse), lather your hair in olive oil -yes the stuff you use in stir-frys; and leave it in for 15-30 mins and rinse with warm water, then condtion. After cutting down your straightener use, washing your hair only every two days, latherring your hair in oil and taking multi-vitamins and/or silicon capsules you should see great improvements. But if you lack time or are forgetful on-going salon treatments would be simpler.
