How do I customize SpamAssassin?

• Email List Management. From the SpamFilter control panel, there is a link to email list management from which you can setup a whitelist or blacklist. Whitelist allows particular senders or domains, and blacklist blocks particular senders or domains. The easiest way to begin blocking email is from within the email itself. Open an email from your inbox in webmail and look at the header. The last field is the “Options” field. There is a link you can click on to add the sender or domain to either you whitelist or blacklist. • Rules Management. From the SpamFilter control panel, there is a link to rules management where you can view a list of rules with pre-assigned values. In order to be considered spam, each email is given a value according to how many criteria it meets, then totals up the score. If the score is more than the “Required Hits” value, then the email is considered spam. If you want particular rules to give a higher value, you can change the value here.
