How do I determine Units/mL of an LDH assay?

0

I googled ‘LDH units’ and got this: “The activity is reported in Berger-Broida LDH units per milliliter; one Berger-Broida unit is the amount of enzyme which will reduce 4.8 x 10 .4 mole of pyruvate/minute.” Unfortunately, I can’t see how to convert your absorbances into those. Perhaps you can? Regardless, though, units are usually defined as actions/minute. So you need to get from the absorbances to the molarity of whatever was being converted by the enzyme. Then there is a standard definition – like the one above – that will tell you how many units were in the tube, and from that you can determine how many units you started with. Hope this makes sense and is helpful!
