I would recommend that you first get advice and understand or benefit in General to repair your old washing machine and whether it is subject to repair. Usually washing machine repair is cheaper than buying a new one, but not always. After proper consultation, choose the best service center in your city. It is better to read the reviews to make sure that everything is okay with the company and their service is reliable

I used to have a WD860 washer dryer, and mine broke down with the same symptoms as yours 5 times. It was a fault with the heating element – basically when drying it went through the motions, but didn’t apply any heat. The engineer that used to come out to me all the time told me that this part was a dodgy design. I imagine they are using a similar component on the model you have. Hotpoint used to charge £90 call out plus parts etc a few years ago, but would have thought any washing machine repairer could fix it if you’d rather save some cash. It’s a shame you can’t find sufficient proof of purchase – did you complete the registration form when you bought it? If you did, that plus your statement might be accepted. Mine was fixed free every time, and with my retailers help was eventually replaced with a different model after nearly 2 years. Edit: No extended warranty, it just kept breaking down, and the repairs they do have their own warranty. If it had been a different fault, I wouldn’t
