How Do I Fix The Agitator In My Whirlpool Washer?

The only way to fix the agitator in your Whirlpool washer is to replace it. Unplug the washer from the outlet. Open up the hood to reveal the washer tub and agitator. Remove the fabric softener dispenser attached to the top of the agitator by twisting the cap counterclockwise. If the cap is stuck, gently pry it off with a flatblade screwdriver.
