How Do I Fix The Agitator In My Whirlpool Washer?
The Whirlpool corporation is one of the largest home appliance manufacturers in the world. Their line of washers come in a variety of styles, colors and washloads, including a number of models that are certified as low electricity use devices by Energy Star. Whatever your model of Whirlpool washer, these machines all work the same way: They spin laundry in a water-filled tub by means of a device called an agitator. Sometimes these agitators break down. The only way to fix the agitator in your Whirlpool washer is to replace it. Unplug the washer from the outlet. Open up the hood to reveal the washer tub and agitator. Remove the fabric softener dispenser attached to the top of the agitator by twisting the cap counterclockwise. If the cap is stuck, gently pry it off with a flatblade screwdriver. Look for a thin line at the top of the agitator where the softener dispenser meets the top of the agitator. There will be a thin line dividing the two. Remove the inner cap located just below the
