How do I get accounts on the unix and PC machines?
When you first arrive in the department, someone should escort or point you at Weber 129, the systems office. There you will find Zube (maybe). He will ask you a few questions, create your account, and point you in the direction of this document. He is the person to see if you have technical questions or problems with the computers or the network. Please be nice to him as he may seem quite frazzled if the system isn’t performing as expected. If you are a incoming grad student for the fall semester, Zube will have an exceedingly short meeting with you during which he will give you your username and password, copies of the FAQs and a few words of advice. This meeting usually occurs on the Tuesday before classes start.
