How do i get red wine stains out of a fitted carpet??

I have an expensive 80/20 wool carpet which is cream, I have hired carpet cleaners several times and it never came up that well. We thought it was about time we got a new carpet but as a last resort I bought some ace laundry bleach poured it sparingly on to the stains left it for a few minutes and then soaked it up with tissue and it worked brilliantly, the carpet has come up like new. However it does specifically say on the bottle not to use on the carpets, I wasn't bothered as the carpet was going to be replaced if it didn't work, if I was you I'd try it somewhere that cant be seen.
