How do I get the gum, patch, or Zyban?
Once you are enrolled in the program, the Free & Clear counselor may recommend Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), in the form of gum or the patch. If the nicotine gum or patch is recommended, Free & Clear will mail the product directly to your home and will provide instructions in its use. The counselor may recommend you speak with your physician about using a prescription medication named Zyban, or its generic equivalent, Buproprion SR. If this prescription medication is recommended, you will need to see your personal physician to be certain you can safely take the medication. If you doctor agrees with the recommendation, (s)he will write the prescription for you to take to your pharmacy. If you have the RESTAT prescription drug plan, the cost of the Zyban is completely paid. Zyban is covered as a part of the Free & Clear program only for those who are enrolled in the RESTAT prescription pharmacy program.
