The seminar Reading Lists can be a good place to start. For further books, try searching in the Library catalogue using keywords, words in title of book, or authors (perhaps authors mentioned in seminars or in reading lists). See also the many books listed in the Books section of the course pages. (If you find a promising book, you might also want to check to see if there are any other relevant books on similar topics shelved nearby.) When studying relevant books, especially very recent ones, it can be useful to consult those books’ own bibliographies for further leads. Google Scholar is a very good and easy to use search resource for academic material, and is a good place to look next. The Zetoc Search engine is also a very powerful way of finding journal articles (there’s no guarantee the articles will actually be available in Edinburgh – though in that case we would not expect you to have read them).
