How do I Keep my Orthomerica STARband Clean?
You will be issued with isopropyl alcohol solution for the cleaning and maintenance of your STARband. As soon as your child is in treatment for 23 hours per day you will be required to clean the STARband helmet once per day. During once on your child’s half hour breaks, (whichever suits your routine better) as soon as the helmet is taken off, wet a white soft cloth with the cleaning fluid you have been given by Vitality in Motion and gently wipe the inside of your STARband. (Please note this does not clean the helmet, it just kills all bacteria which can accumulate inside and prevent it from building up in the helmet. Please do not try and scrub the discoloured areas inside the helmet ). After using the cleaning fluid, place your child’s helmet upside down for the remaining half an hour. This will allow the alcohol to evaporate. Prior to placing the helmet back on your child, please check that your child’s head and the inside of the helmet are completely dry.
