How Do I Know If Ive Had a Miscarriage?

Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy may be the first warning sign of a miscarriage. However, about 20% of women have vaginal bleeding during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and less than half of them miscarry. To determine whether you have had a miscarriage, try to keep any clot-like material passed from your vagina during pregnancy, so your doctor can determine its source and whether any pregnancy-related material remains in your uterus. If you are pregnant and bleeding vaginally, your doctor will probably use an ultrasound to help assess whether your pregnancy is healthy. An ultrasound can help determine whether there is a fetal heartbeat and whether the amniotic sac that surrounds the fetus is normal. It can also help determine whether the pregnancy is ectopic (occurring outside the uterus, such as in one of the fallopian tubes) or whether you may have spontaneously aborted one fetus in a twins or triplets pregnancy. With such a small amount of blood It is not a miscarriage. I also wouldnt even think that such a small amount is leading to one. But you have to be aware that sometimes slight bleeding can be a sign of a miscarriage to come. It can be very light bleeding for a few days and then heavier, and painful bleeding. But I think that with just a few spots on the toilet paper then you are fine. Usually any bleeding to be worried about is pretty consistent and heavy enough for at least a panty liner. Good luck hun, I hope everything works out for you. You should probably take it easy for a week. Just to be on the safe side. Dont do anything strenuous or heavy lifting and not much walking. Be extra careful.

I just had the same experience. Last Thursday I was just 5 weeks pregnant. I went to the restroom and saw that I was bleeding. In my case, the bleeding was heavy and clotting.I was cramping a little bit, but it wasn’t the worst pain I have experienced. I went to the doctor yesterday and it was confirmed that I had an early miscarriage. One thing I have learned from everyone I have talk to is that bleeding can be normal. It is very common for women to have some spotting. It is usually pink or brown. This can be caused by implantation. Intercourse can also cause some light bleeding. If you are bleeding heavily and it doesn’t stop I think that you should definitely go to your doctor and have them check you out to make sure you aren’t miscarrying. I wish you the best of luck!

No you only need to see a doctor if your farther along b/c it might not pass all the way but if you were suppose to start on the day you started bleeding then your fine…clots are normal even if you don’t miscarry you could have but you will never know its called a chemical pregnancy it never implanted if you did miscarry.
