How do I know if my baby is teething?
When does the process of teething begin? The process of teething often follows hereditary patterns, so if the mother and father teethed early or late, your baby may follow the same pattern. On average the first tooth comes in during the seventh month, although it can arrive as early as three months, as late as a year, or in rare cases even earlier or later. Which teeth come in first and how many with there be? In total there are twenty primary (first) teeth, which is twelve less than the full set of thirty-two permanent teeth adults have. Most children have a full set of primary teeth by the time they are around two or three years old. These teeth usually last until about the age of six, when the teeth that were first to appear become loose and fall out as the second teeth begin to push through the gums. The primary teeth continue falling out until roughly the age of twelve. Again, these ages mentioned above are only averages and your child may follow an earlier or later pattern. The f
3months seems a little early, but it could happen. Babies chew on everything, its a way for them to make sense of the world around them, by using thier mouth to figure out the taste, texture, how hard something is etc. My neice is 1 year and 2 months, and she only has 4 teeth. My sister bought this red liquid medicine that she gives to her by putting it in her mouth, and it numbs it for awhile. It wouldnt be a bad idea to buy her some teething toys (she chews on them, the matierla it made out of will cushion her teeth and make them feel better if she is teething) You sound like a first time mother, she is only 3 months and is crabby, you will have a lot of crabby days. It might even be as simple, as that shes constipated, shes got a rash on her private areas from diapears, she doesnt like how your holding her, if its hot there right now, that might even be the reason. Just make sure shes comfortable and has everything she needs. If you find any rashes, or her health doesnt seem great,
It is possible. my son got his first tooth visibly at 4mos. There is no set schedule with babies. With baby #1, I used to wet a rag and he would hold it and rub his own gums. With baby #2 I used a mesh food holder and filled with ice. He used to numb his gums. Orajel did not work for either baby it was a waste of $. Humphreys helped. Tylenol helped. Good luck.
