How do I know which prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications are harmful?
Drugs are given a pregnancy risk factor category of A through E by the Food and Drug Administration (and sometimes X) depending upon what has been learned through various animal and human studies done with the drug. If you are pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs.
