How do I litter train my 5-week old kittens?

For very small kittens like this, PLEASE be sure not to use clumping litter! If they ingest the clumping litter it can cause an intestinal blockage. And since you say they are eating it, make sure it’s regular clay litter and not clumping. What I have done to help the young ones learn to use the box is this (and I’ve raised A LOT of kittens doing feral cat rescue!): When they are this small, they can’t get into a regular litter box, the sides are too high. Either buy a small litter box meant for kittens or you can buy a cheap disposable aluminum baking dish from the dollar store. Put the litter in it and take some of the kittens poos on place them in the box. Or use one of Mom’s poos. They will quickly learn this is where they should be eliminating. My latest kitten caught on to this idea the first time I put the box down and put one of her poos in it. She’s not had a single accident since! Best of luck with these little ones!
