I agree that you can’t MAKE a baby sleep through the night, but you can try to help depending on the baby’s age. I read that if you have a routine which you do daily before bed time it helps. Also giving the baby a warm bath before bedtime, another thing is to give him a good filling meal (if he is the age where he eats solids). Ask your pediatrician if you can add some rice cereal to his last bottle. Also don’t let him take too many naps during the day, and if he takes naps during the day keep the room well lit so that he knows the difference between a nap and his night sleep.
