How do I personalise my messages with merge fields?
A. It is possible to insert several merge fields in your message to make the message applicable to different people. These fields coincide with the data fields applied to contacts in Sage CRM. First you must choose the Sage CRM fields that you wish to have available. Go to the e-txt message manager menu and click the “e-txt admin” icon, then choose “Merge Fields” from the list of options. Here you need to choose from the drop-down list, at the top right of the window, the set of fields that you would like to use in the e-txt plug-in. They will appear in the left hand box. Select the ones you would like and click the green arrow to move them across to the e-txt box. Click “ok” to confirm. To insert them into your message, open a new SMS screen and click the drop-down menu next to “merge fields”. When writing your message, click on the relevant merge fields in the list to insert them as needed.
