How do I plant a flower in a pot?
Transplanting to the PotSelect a flower pot with drainage holes at the bottom. Fill the pot half way with commercial potting soil. Use a small hand shovel to loosen the sides of the soil around the flower in its nursery container. Tip the container sideways and gently shake out the flower and the root ball. Lower the flower into the flower pot, holding it upright with one hand. With the other hand, add potting soil until it covers the root ball. Firm the soil with your hand.Daily CareWater the soil every other day, or whenever it is not moist to the touch. Leave the container where it gets eight hours of full sunlight, unless your specific flower calls for less. Add slow release plant food to the soil every two weeks to combat the leaching of minerals from the soil when you water it.
