Not sure if you are doing this but I have found that if I burp my daughter instantly after finishing the bottle she spits up. After the baby is done with the bottle or you plan on burping try waiting a few minutes to let it all settle. Hold the baby upright in the mean time. Also another technique I read about is a good way to burp a baby is lightly bounce the baby (sometimes you can hear the bubble you are trying to work out in their tummy.) I usually bounce my daughter 10 times and then pat for a little bit then bounce and so on until i get a burp.
