How do i program a 2006 chevy cobalt key fob… please help?
I lost my key about a month ago and had the same question……. You have to buy the key from the DEALER…. it must be a dealer, a locksmith can’t cut you one, they require a microchip. Unfortunately the only person who can program it is the dealer….. I wouldn’t risk doing it yourself, if you do it incorrectly the car will reject the key and shut down the main computer, requireing you to get it towed to your local chevy dealership. The cost for towing and a new computer can run up to $600….. not worth the risk. Take it to a dealership, it will take them 5 min to do it.
