Press and hold down the Cable/DSS (or TV) button while entering in the 2-digit code for the cable box (or TV) brand listed in the owners manual. Point the remote at the cable box/TV and press the power key to see if the cable box will turn on or off. If the cable box/TV does not respond, try using the next code. If none of the codes are successful, the remote will not be able to control the unit.
