How do I provide customer separation if multiple customers share the same port?
If multiple customers share the same port then VLAN separation is required. The port will be provisioned as a “mapped port” with a defined association from VLAN identifier to transparent domain identifier. Any VLAN identifier that enters the port and is not in the defined map list will have its packet discarded. Any packet that enters the port without a VLAN identifier will have an assumed VLAN identifier of 4096.
