Look for a file that has the same name as the folder where your lost messages were stored, such as “Deleted Items.bak.” That is a backup copy of the folder. If there is more than one file with that name, choose the one with the date closest to the time you deleted your mail. Right-click the file and choose “Restore.” Go to the file’s location as shown under “Original Location.” Move or remove the existing DBX folder file that has the same name as the one you just restored, such as “Deleted Items.dbx.” After moving the other file, rename the file you restored, changing its extension from .bak to .dbx.
